[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]July 21st marked the conclusion of the 2nd Annual Top Tech competition and we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout!  Once again, everyone throughout the company came together to support and encourage one another as things heated up during the finals in Indianapolis, IN.   This year at the finals, there was a new competition track added – Top Trailer Tech.  This allowed for the technicians to expand their skills in a new category.  Let’s take a

look at how things played out…

2017 Top Tech Winners

Top Tech – Jose Feliciano  (Orlando)

1st Runner-Up – Jeremy Piepmeier (Atlanta)

We’re pleased to announce that we will be sending the 2nd Annual Top Tech – Jose Feliciano, and Jeff Brinkmann as an alum to the TMCSuperTech 2017 competition in Orlando, FL from September 16th -19th.  Here they will compete with the best of the best on a National level for the title of TMCSuperTech.  And as long Jeff performs better at SuperTech this year, he can return again as an alum in 2018 even if he is not awarded the Top Tech title.  Our plan is to continue to extend this invitation to previous winners so they can once again compete on the National stage.

In addition to going down in the history books just the 2nd “Top Tech” and receiving cash prizes, Jose Feliciano will also be treated to a three night luxury hotel stay in Orlando (including expenses) for more rest, relaxation and recreation following the competition.   Jeff Brinkmann will also be along representing Dickinson Fleet as our Alumni Top Tech.

July 21st – Top Tech Finals Overview

During the day of July 21st, the Top 10 technicians from each region competed in the finals in Indianapolis, Indiana for the title of “Top Tech.” All of the Top 10 made their way through entry level exams, passed, semi finals tests and took on the 10 challenge stations at the finals.

The competition was even tougher this year and while several individual stations were scored very closely – the points broke out much more cleanly this time around.  The strongest overall performances/scores were in the Vehicle Control Systems, Braking Systems, Wheel Ends, Trailer Alignment and Vehicle Coupling stations.

Company Dinner Celebration

Following the competition, it was time to celebrate the continuation of this annual company tradition. The Top 10 finalists were all taken to an Italian feast at Maggiano’s in Indianapolis, IN. Throughout the evening, the technicians enjoyed some team camaraderie as the competition winners were announced and awards were handed out.

July 22nd & 23rd – Brickyard 400

To wrap up an incredible weekend, the Dickinson Fleet Team and Top 10 finalists will enjoy both Saturday and Sunday of the Brickyard 400 for some awesome race day action. This will be another opportunity to take a well deserved break and enjoy time with the team.

The Journey Continues

We’d like to take this time to thank everyone who has been involved in the Top Tech competition, both this year and last.  It takes a lot to put this event together and without your support we wouldn’t be able to pull it off.  We hope you will continue to follow us on this journey as Dickinson Fleet Services is represented in September at TMCSuperTech by Jose Feliciano and Jeff Brinkmann!
