2nd Annual Top Tech Competition is Underway
The Dickinson Fleet Services Top Tech competition is officially back! After a very successful inaugural year in 2016, it’s time to kick off this annual tradition here in 2017. Regional qualifiers are beginning right now in Indianapolis, Indiana and continuing next week in Atlanta, Georgia. Finalist will advance to the finals help in Indianapolis on July 21st with the winner advancing to the Super Tech finals in Orlando Florida, September 16 -21, 2017.
How the Top Tech Program Works
Eligible participants for the Dickinson Top Tech award are selected from more than 400 technicians based on criteria including strength of on-the-job technical knowledge, diagnostic skill, quality workmanship and outstanding customer service performance. These technicians participate in training and sub-region qualifying events before advancing to the next round.
During these regional competitions in participants must make it through very intense rounds of written assessments and hands-on challenges. Ten finalists will be selected to advance and have a shot at the title of Dickinson’s Top Tech during the final part of the competition held during July in Indianapolis.

Dickinson’s Top Tech
The finals will be made up of hands-on skill tests which include vehicle electronics, preventive maintenance, air conditioning and emissions. Additionally, there will be more written assessment involved before the winner of the Dickinson Top Tech award can be crowned. In addition to being named the “Dickinson Top Tech,” the top finisher will receive a cash prize as will the other finalists.

Continuing the Tradition
The Top Tech competition was launched in 2016 and the winners were…
Top Tech – Jeff Brinkman, Cincinnati Region
1st Runner Up – Jose Feliciano, Orlando Region
2nd Runner Up – Jacob Woolliy, Houston Mobile Region
Since just 1 point separated Jose Feliciano from Jeff Brinkman, Dickinson sent both the 1st Runner up and the Top Tech to the TMC Super Tech 2016 in Raleigh, NC..
In addition to being named the first “Top Tech” and receiving cash prizes, Jeff Brinkman and his guest were also treated to a three night luxury hotel stay on North Carolina’s Outer Banks (including expenses) for more rest, relaxation and recreation following the competition. This purely voluntary competition is meant to encourage active, enthusiastic participation and support among all team/ family members involved. It gives Dickinson Fleet Services the chance to recognize the best of the best by offering some incredible prizes as well. We will be posting updates and photos throughout the competition all the way up until the Top Tech is officially announced.
