LLS_logo_FNLIn 2013, Bob Dickinson, CEO of Dickinson Fleet Services, was diagnosed with Leukemia.  Since that time, Dickinson Fleet Services has been dedicated to supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as its charity of choice.  Bob has joined the Executive Committee this year and plans to be Chairman of Light The Night in 2016.  Employees at several locations have joined together to raise a great deal of money throughout the year and will be participating in “Light The Night” walks throughout the U.S.  We’re also proud to say that Bob himself will be walking in Indianapolis at the October 10th event.

Creating A Sense of Community
Light The Night is all about friends, family and co-workers coming together to raise money in their support for a common cause.  We have definitely seen an incredible sense of camaraderie here at Dickinson and can’t wait to join others across the country as well.  Millions of consumers also help by donating at retail outlets. Culminating in inspirational and memorable evening walks every fall, participants in nearly 200 communities across North America join together carrying illuminated lanterns to take steps to end cancer.

Raising Money For A Great Cause
Over the past year, Dickinson Fleet has been able to gather  in sponsorships from clients and friends totaling over $65,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  In addition, Dickinson Fleet team members from; Indianapolis, Atlanta, Dallas, Orlando, Jacksonville and Tampa have  raised nearly $30,000 through several company events, as well as initiatives to sell raffle tickets for access to the Dickinson suite at the Indiana Pacers games.  Employees have also sold candy, soft drinks and participated in internal fundraising initiatives such as paying $1 to wear jeans on a Wednesday or $1 to wear sneakers on Friday.  Overall, we’ve had a lot of fun in supporting a cause that’s near and dear to our hears.

Looking Ahead
Moving forward, Dickinson Fleet plans to become even more involved and raise more money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  We are all rallying around our CEO, Bob Dickinson, and all others who are battling this condition.  Every fundraiser, every walk, every dollar makes a difference.  And at Dickinson Fleet, making a difference is what we’re all about..
