The selected honoree will receive $5,000 for a 501(c)(3) diversity partner of their choice* and will be recognized during the NAMAD Awards Dinner in Miami. In addition, a new Emergency Response Vehicle will be donated to the dealership’s local Red Cross Chapter** on the dealership’s behalf.
To be considered the nominee must:
Be under the age of 40
Be in good standing with NAMAD
Operate within the automotive industry
Have demonstrated a strong commitment and contributions to the industry
Have demonstrated a commitment to supporting their local community and/or minority populations
*Organizations must be federally tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code with non-private foundation status or an equivalent government entity under section 170 (c)(1). **Red Cross vehicle will be donated to a Red Cross Chapter in the dealership’s state.
Congratulations to our 2020 rising star
We’re proud to announce Carlos Sandoval of Bartow Ford, as the recipient of the Cox Automotive and NAMAD Rising Star Award.
Carlos’ passion for the automotive industry developed during his business management studies at Arizona State University, where he received a Certificate in Automotive Entrepreneurs and Leadership. Carlos has participated in Ford Motor Company’s Automotive Dealership Education Program for Minorities, NADA Academy, Ally Management of Retail Operations, Dealer Development Expertise Assessment and he is an approved GM Dealer Development National Candidate.
In 2005, Carlos joined Bartow Ford which is among the largest Ford volume dealers in the nation and is a 20-time President’s Award Winner. Today, Carlos is a partner and fixed operations director at the company. Carlos oversees three departments, 125 employees, and 69 operating service bays. Under his leadership, his team boasts combined annual sales revenues of $23 million and manage over $2 million in parts inventory.
