ATLANTA – April 30, 2015 – Atlanta-based Cox Automotive and its 22 brands are celebrating the end of National Volunteer Week with a look back at the success of 2014. Collectively with its 24,000 employees, Cox Automotive participated in 519 separate volunteer projects in locations all over the U.S., with more than 450 community organizations supported during the one-year period.
“We make it a priority to support the causes and organizations that are important to our employees, said Rock Anderson, senior vice president and chief people officer for Cox Automotive. “In this way, we can impact the community and show employees that we are there for one another as a team, as a family and as a company.”
In 2014, three major company-wide campaigns drove the bulk of the volunteerism efforts, including “Drive Away Hunger,” which resulted in 370,000 meals provided to food banks across the country; “No Excuses,” a month-long employee volunteerism campaign; and the St. Jude Give Thanks. Walk., a nationwide single-day event supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, for which $180,000 was raised by 650+ Cox Automotive participants in 65 cities nationwide.
In addition to the volunteer opportunities made available to all Cox Automotive employees, the company offers a corporate matching gifts program to match employee donations to an organization of his/her choice up to $250 per year, per employee.
