Market for used cars revving up
Wednesday June 14, 2017
Dave Lawrenz has heard plenty about the pending free fall for used car prices nationwide as lease returns saturate the market, putting supply way ahead of demand.
The only trouble with that, he said, is that it doesn’t appear to be happening — at least not from what he sees when he goes to buy cars at auction.
“Trucks are up, anything with low miles is firm. There just isn’t a trend down,” said the owner of a used-car business in Ottawa Lake, Mich. “I wish there was.”
