June Fleet Sales Increase; Commercial and Government Fleets See Double-Digit Gains

June 2022 Fleet Sales

Combined sales into large rental, commercial, and government fleets increased 8.4% from June 2021. Sales into government fleets were up 24.2% year over year while commercial fleets were up 23.2% year over year. Meanwhile, rental fleet volume remains low, down 9.8% from last June.

Total June new-vehicle sales were 1.13 million, down 13.5% from last year with one more selling day than June 2021, with an estimated retail seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of 11.1 million, up 0.2 million from last month, or 1.6%, and down 8.5% from last June’s 12.1 million pace.

Among manufacturers, GM, Ford and Stellantis saw similar gains over last year while Nissan and Toyota saw large declines.
