Built on a multi-currency, multi-language platform that can be adapted for other markets, Kelley Blue Book officially launched in Portugal at KBB.PT and has set its sights on future expansion globally.

Why Portugal?

Pricing is the most important factor for both new- and used- car shoppers in Portugal.1 In fact, it is overwhelmingly so with 74% of new-car buyers and 72% of used-car buyers indicating the primary importance of price in their purchase decision,1 so it comes as no surprise that a resource like KBB.PT would serve Portuguese car shoppers well in their decision-making process.

In terms of consumer benefits, visitors to KBB.PT will have free access to trade-in, private party, used-car retail and new-car retail pricing as well as an array of content developed for Portuguese auto intenders and enthusiasts alike.

For the automotive industry, greater efficiencies in valuations will bring consumers and dealers closer together, and Kelley Blue Book® Auction Values will be available in an industry-facing software product coming to the Portugal market.

The launch in Portugal also lays the groundwork for Kelley Blue Book’s debut later this year in Brazil, the world’s largest Portuguese-speaking market and the largest economy in the Southern Hemisphere.

A Collaborative Effort

KBB.PT was built in partnership with Auto SAPO, a leading provider of automotive classified listings in Portugal. The initiative yielded a completely re-envisioned consumer site and valuation platform that is empowering car shoppers in Portugal with tools to research and buy cars (and transforming how dealers and manufacturers connect with those shoppers). Kelley Blue Book will seek to replicate this model as it expands into other markets, including Brazil, in the months and years to come.
